Automobiles are one of the most relied on inventions of the century. Almost every individual either owns a motorized vehicle or rides in one on a regular basis. Cost of fuel for cars, trucks, and other vehicles has been on the rise due to the increasing prices of oil barrels from overseas. This increase in price affects all people who drive cars, trucks, or use public transportation. A rise in fuel costs also raises transportation costs for products shipped by the power of the combustion engine. Because of these issues, energy conservation has been one of the new buzz words that has had this nation looking for cheaper alternatives such as, electric and hydro powered automobiles. However, many of these alternatives come with large sacrifices for the consumer or would take a long time to become established on a world wide market.

For example, electric cars are efficient and cost effective but most cannot go very far before needing to recharge. Hydro power is very efficient and inexpensive but the initial cost of the vehicle is very high and it would take time and money to build fueling facilities across the globe. Gas stations are on every street corner, and most people already have a vehicle powered by gasoline. Therefore, the ideal solution is to increase the mpg of the current automobiles on our streets now. Combustion engines in cars are designed to run at optimum efficiency on vapor fuel. Cars today are fueled on Liquid gas which burns at 18% efficiency in the piston chambers and exits the engine by way of the exhaust system. The catalytic converter, which is located in the exhaust pipe of every vehicle, is intended to eliminate the wasted fuel by breaking down large gas molecules into particles which burn off before they leave the exhaust pipe, thus eliminating pollution. The unused fuel is harmful to the engine for two reasons. First, the perfectly usable leftover fuel is completely wasted, causing a vehicle’s mpg to go down, and second, the leftover gas, commonly known as sludge, builds up in the engine and causes breakdowns. In a sense, automobiles are designed to break down and need replacement after every ten to fifteen years; this way the demand for vehicles stays relatively high. What if there was a way to make the combustion engine more efficient? It turns out, there is a product emerging into the market which does exactly this.

There is a two stage conversion kit recently released onto the market, the HAFC (Hydro Assist Fuel Cell) and the PICC, (Pre-Ignition Catalytic Converter). They are revolutionary products which under testing studies have shown the pieces of equipment can increase MPG of any gasoline powered engine by approximately nine times its standard mpg. Both the HAFC and PICC conversion kits can be installed on any type of gasoline powered vehicle and can be installed and maintained by your local mechanic. The HAFC (Hydro assisted fuel cell) breaks up water molecules into atoms to create a hybrid water-gas which burns about fifty percent more efficiently than standard gas, thus doubling the car or truck’s MPG.

Stage two uses the PICC (pre-ignition catalytic converter) to break up the liquid gas into a plasma vapor where the elements are divided into individual particles before the fuel enters the engine. This process changes the dense liquid fuel into the less dense plasma which triples the fuel from the previous form, but because vapor fuel is far more efficient, the less dense plasma fuel burns at three times the efficiency of the previous liquid form even though its density has been significantly reduced. The researchers of this revolutionary product have cars and trucks with both the HAFC and PICC installed running on standard fuel and getting an amazing two hundred to three hundred miles per gallon. Because the fuel is transformed to vapor, all the gases are burned up in the piston chambers. Consequently, there are literally no pollutants or toxins released out of the exhaust and into the atmosphere.

Between parts, installation, and tuning, the HAFC runs about $1,500. With gas prices expected to reach $4 a gallon by summer, an individual who owns a Honda Civic will spend $2,000 on gas every year. With the HAFC installed, the Civics’ gas consumption is cut in half, equaling a savings of a $1,000 dollars a year, making the payback on this conversion about 18 months. The PICC, which has not yet been released, is estimated to cost around $5,000 installed. With the help of the HAFC and the PICC, the Civic is estimated to get 270 MPG which generates a savings of $1,778 per year, making the payback period a little over three and a half years. The savings increase at a faster rate when you go to larger vehicles like SUVs and pickups. The average consumer who owns a Chevy Tahoe, for example, at $4 a gallon spends about $4,000 per year. The HAFC cuts the fuel expense to $2,000 a year, a savings of $2,000 which means the HAFC pays for itself in 9 months! With the PICC you spend approximately $444 a year, a savings of $3,556. The PICC pays for itself in less than one and a half years. Also, because all of the fuel is burned off in the engine, there is no excess gas to cause breakdowns. A car with these systems will last upwards of 500,000 miles.

These two inventions are the best products to hit the automotive industry in the last 25 years. The HAFC and the PICC significantly cut down fuel costs, while eliminating emissions. The same fuel is used so there is no need for dramatic changes to our fueling stations. Cars are also constructed in the same fashion so this product has little effect on the automobile manufacturing plants. Overall there are no drawbacks to these systems and much to gain from them. The inventor is currently working on similar systems to be used on boats, specifically cruise ships, and commercial airplanes.
